Eleven received theirs from the Bishop at the 11:00 Mass. My 7-yr old grandson, whose sacramental preparation was initiated by his parents from the time he was baptised, lovingly received Jesus for the very first time from the PP at the 6:00 P.M. Mass The arrangement made with the PP to receive FHC separately from the gang of eleven was a personal choice made by my grandson who, even at age 7, understands that First Holy Communion is not about the presents, cakes and fizzy drinks with the Bishop (who probably does not know that 4 out of the 11 were baptised on the Thursday before or, that one of those 4 was previously baptised or, that at every Mass attended since FHC another child says to the EMHC that he does not take “wine“ and still makes the sign of the cross r to l).

My grandson begged to be transferred to another school because the three-legged stool of formation more than seriously limps in his Catholic community. Any sound formation my grandchildren receive from home is corrupted by the CINO school they attend. I have since contacted and spoken to the Vicar General and made known the state of this CINO school and that our grandchildren will now be attending a secular state school in September because, in my grandson’s own words: “Jesus left my school.” (not enough space in any combox to accommodate the background story behind that statement).

What to do with our CINO schools? Close them. Simply because even sound catechetical materials will not help where school and staff are not intuitively Catholic.

God bless
SoniaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-496598122324860489.post-24088802502077980902014-07-07T23:54:52.118+01:002014-07-07T23:54:52.118+01:00For a quite full account of the instrument of the ...For a quite full account of the instrument of the changes around the 60s and 70s in England check out the blog of Fr Richard Aladics who has written a series of posts on his blog giving the history of Corpus Christi College in London which spearheaded the 'new catechetics' At the end of the following link click on to newer post and so forth to read the nine posts.
http://friendswithchrist.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/corpus-christi-revisited.htmlMariannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12211663128173535773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-496598122324860489.post-43693108929859005472014-07-07T03:04:58.986+01:002014-07-07T03:04:58.986+01:00Wonderful article, thank you...will be checking ou...Wonderful article, thank you...will be checking out all the links.
